alcohol to an underage customer:

fine or having their alcohol license suspended:

You will
notice there are a few businesses missing from the list of those who were
prosecuted. Exempted were Lowe's Foods, Pizza Hut, Reidsville ABC
Store, and Sagebrush. All six of the small, independently-owned
businesses were held to the fire while the four chains got a free pass.
We've asked
the ABC Commission in Raleigh to explain the difference. So far they
have not been able to come up with an answer.
Update:
According to Alcohol Law Enforcement in Raleigh, there is a bit of a turf
war going on between ABC and ALE. ABC reports it may or may not have
authority over ABC stores, but ALE did not report the Reidsville ABC
store's sale to an underage customer. ALE says it did not report the
Reidsville ABC store because it believed the ABC Commission has no
authority over the Reidsville ABC store. ALE says in the future it
will report all ABC store violations and let ABC decide what to do about
the violations. ALE does not expect ABC will do anything with its
violation reports.
Sound
confusing? Well, the story ain't over yet. There's still the
matter of Pizza Hut, Sagebrush, and Lowe's Foods. Stay tuned for
more developments.

down for 12 days. Talk of the Town Restaurant will be providing the
crawfish and alligator.

and Dine at Meadow Greens Country Club in Eden. Tickets are
$25. Lucky City supplies the wine. Cafe 99 supplies the dine.
The Wine & Dine has been cancelled until April 10.
